The terms stated here do not supersede statutory rights under the sale of goods acts but are designed to clarify the ways in which we operate. Online & Telephone Orders
These terms and conditions apply to the use of and orders placed with the Kouamo online shop and telephone orders placed with Kouamo. By placing an order with Kouamo you will be deemed to have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.
Every care has been taken to ensure that descriptions, measurements, colours and prices are correct on this website. As our products are digitally and/or individually handmade there may be fractional variations in sizes - all measurements given are therefore approximate. We aim to represent colours as accurately as possible, although there may be some variation in the colour of goods shown on the website due to the limitations of photographic and web processes. A product will not be considered faulty if there is a slight colour variation between the actual product and the images online. We reserve the right to amend prices in the event of a change in VAT. Some products are editions and others may be discontinued once current stock is sold out. Therefore it is not guaranteed that all products will be available for re-order.
Making a Purchase
Orders can be processed directly through this website. We accept credit and debit card payment. You may also provide your credit card information via phone. No binding contract will exist between us until we have accepted your order. All goods are sold subject to availability, and can be placed on backorder. Once we have received your payment we will send out your order by recorded delivery .
Postage & Packaging
The final price quoted on the payments page is the price of the goods including delivery to the stated destination. These charges include carriage by UK Royal Mail, UK Parcelforce to both home and overseas destinations or courier.
Providing your items are in stock we will aim to dispatch your order to you within 7 working days unless a shorter time is especially requested and agreed. Once dispatched, please allow 5 working days for UK orders, 10 days for EU orders and 15+ for rest of the world unless otherwise specified. We provide an estimated lead-line for made-to-order and bespoke products.
Our postage and packaging rates are displayed on our website and are subject to change without notice. However, once we have accepted your order we will not change the price that applies to such an order.
The companies we work with deliver within the normal working hours of 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. All shipments will require a signature upon delivery.
In case of non-delivery within the advised times, you should contact us by email at email@example.com or via our online form. We will answer within 48 hours and let you know where is your product.
Duties & Local Taxes
Purchasers are responsible for any duties and/or taxes levied at the point of entry into the destination country. A commercial invoice is provided with all goods shipped. You shall not be entitled to cancel your order on the basis of unforeseen duties or levies.
In addition to your legal rights, Kouamo allows you to return our products and get a full refund if you simply change your mind. Please notify us in writing within 14 days of receipt of the products by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or via our online form.
Then you have another 14 days after your notification, to return the item(s) to us in its original condition and packaging, unused and with tags attached
Several types of goods are exempt from being returned.
- Gift cards
- Downloadable software products
- Bespoke and made-to-order items
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
- Any item that is returned but without notification or the written notification has been made more than 14 days after the receipt of the goods.
Although we value quality and well-made products at Kouamo and all reasonable care is taken in packing orders, Kouamo will be happy to exchange or fully refund any faulty or damaged products providing
- You have not damaged or misused the product(s) accidently or otherwise.
- You caused damage by your own attempts to repair the products.
- You knew about the faults before you bought the products.
To exchange or claim a full refund, you will need to notify us within 30 days of the delivery of the product(s) by email at email@example.com or via or online contact form. Then you will have 14 days to send us the faulty product in order for us to process the exchange or the refund.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs to return your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
We strongly recommend you return any items via recorded post. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item. Goods which are returned to us but are lost in shipping remain your responsibility. A proof of posting will assist you in tracking any shipment which is reported as lost, damaged, mislaid or otherwise undelivered/undeliverable.
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. If you chose a different delivery than our standard one, the basic delivery fee will be refunded in addition to the full price of the item
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Credit Card Security Payment
If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Currency & Pricing
All prices shown in this website are quoted in pounds sterling and are inclusive of VAT (credit cards sales will be charged in your local billing currency by your credit card provider). Data entry errors or other technical problems may result in inaccurate prices being shown. In such cases it is not required to honour this price. If you see any price you believe to be incorrect, please contact us so we can verify it for you.
Payment and Retention of Title
Under normal circumstances, goods must be paid for prior to despatch. If, for any reason, goods are shipped prior to clearance of payments, title in the goods shipped belongs to Kouamo until payment in full for the goods is received by us. Please note that online transactions are normally actioned automatically whilst you are on-line to the secure transaction server.
We undertake to exercise all reasonable precautions to keep information supplied to us by customers strictly confidential. Where you have opted to join our mailing list - we do not supply your details to third parties but we do use it to advise our clients of goods and services we feel may be of interest to them. Information supplied to us may be stored on a computer system for our convenience, but will not be supplied to any outside agency. We prefer you to use the secure transaction services to make credit card transactions since this service is completely independent of our organisation and your credit card details are not divulged to us at any time. Applicable law and courts of jurisdiction: all transactions undertaken through this website are governed by English law and any legal actions arising out of such transactions shall be subject to the English legal processes and under the jurisdiction of English courts.
