Kouamo Talks Colour at The Africa Centre

Kouamo Talk at the London Design Festival

Kouamo is delighted to take part in a line-up of talks and workshops at The Africa Centre as part of this year’s London Design Festival. On 21 September Julie will present a talk with Q&A about using colour with confidence in the home - drawing on insights from her own creative processes and learnings as a textile designer.

The London Design Festival programme at The Africa Centre  is centred around an immersive installation by designer Yinka Ilori. Yinka specialises in up-cycling vintage furniture and has exhibited at the Vitra Design Museum, the Southbank Centre and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.

Titled ‘A Large Chair Does Not Make a King’ - the audience is invited to take a seat at one of four elevated chairs - where they are treated to a parable representing the narrative of life. “The installation invites you to leave your ego at the door,” explains Yinka. “It seeks to remind you that regardless of how successful you have been in life we all share the common link of humanity.”
