We have trawled the internet, perused Pinterest and explored the latest Kouamo collections to give you five fresh design ideas to pep up your home for the Spring season.
Add Some Spring to Your Steps
Unless you are lucky enough to have a grand spiral or sweeping stairwell in your home, the chances are your staircase will often go unnoticed. We discovered some great ideas on Pinterest to give this neglected space a new lease of life - using a gradient of paint or beautiful wallpaper offcuts in patterns or florals. We want to try an exotic variation of the latter, with a selection of Kouamo papers.
Want to give it a try? We have 5 sets of our beautiful Kouamo Wallpaper samples to giveaway free. Comment here or drop us a message if you would like a set and keep us posted about how you use them.
Double Up Your Windows
When Spring arrives we always throw open the windows at Kouamo to let the light flood in. Using mirrors is a well known way to magnify light and seemingly extend interior space. We love this series of ‘Paneled Epoque Mirrors’ by Anthropologie UK (£298 – £698), which have the appearance of a window and bring to mind the classic French architecture from our childhood. The pieces on the right are by Aldgate Home and create a similar effect using beautiful reclaimed wood.
Bring in Bold Colour Pops
Taking your first foray into using bolder colour combinations this spring? Playing with accessories is a great way to start. ‘Pink and green should never be seen?’ We completely disagree! The right tones, like these fresh greens with pops of warm magenta in our Bangoua (£79), Bamena (£89) or Tonga (£89) cushions can add instant pep into your home.
Create a pretty perch with zesty upholstery set against teal wallpaper. We recently came across designs by British design company Bark Furniture and were particularly drawn to this beautifully crafted Acorn low back two seater (£1,970) which would look perfect against a backdrop of our Fern Wallpaper. Re-upholstering original mid-century modern designs with vibrant fabric creates a contemporary twist. We can even upholster your existing chairs with your favourite Kouamo print. Create Indoor Hanging Gardens
Anyone who knows our designs, will be aware of our love of foliage at Kouamo, and particularly the beautiful shapes and forms of plant life. Bring some of the outside in, this Spring, with these creative ideas for indoor hanging gardens. Succulent Terrariums are particularly easy to care for, even if you haven’t been blessed with green fingers. The free form string gardens by Kokedama were featured on Design Sponge with a step by step guide.
