Describe your current favourite colour or colour palette and how it makes you feel?

Oh that's hard to answer. I work with colour every day and love them all. It would  be easier to say what I don't like and that would be Mission Brown. It reminds me of an ugly period in interior design and my junior school uniform.

Can you tell us about a brave colour choice you made, which you feel paid off.

Well brave in the sense that I painted the hall ceiling and walls in Farrow & Ball Down Pipe while my husband was away on business. I feel the colour choice paid off. Still convincing the husband though.

Mombasa Beach by Melinda Ashton Turner

Can you tell us about a place you have visited which is particularly memorable to you in terms of colour?

The beach pool beside the old fort in Mombasa. As I type this I see the kids playing and jumping in. The sun on my face, the unbelievable crystal clear turquoise water surrounded by white painted stone. It was a very welcome sight after a day's travel.

Green Food by Melinda Ashton Turner

For a period of time the artist Sophie Calle only ate monochromatic meals in which the foods were the same colour. Which colour would you choose for your meal?

What a brilliant and interesting question. I would say green. It covers most of my favourite foods and I could add in a few herbs for flavour!
